The black-and-white cartoon drawings are strictly decorative, but the directions are simple and clear enough for those with little or no experience. Better Homes and Gardens New Junior Cook Book (Better Homes and Gardens, 1979; o.p.) is for the same age group and features dazzling full-color photographs. The great variety of recipes in the Williamsons' book and the comforting presentation make it an appealing selection.
