Children of winter
Out walking, deep in the Derbyshire hills, Catherine and her family are forced to take shelter from a sudden storm in an old barn.
It all seems strangely familiar to Catherine. As the torchlight dims, shadows of the past crowd in, memories of a time hundreds of years ago, when three children took refuge in a barn, not from a storm but from a terrible plague.
This gripping and haunting adventure is inspired by the true story of the village of Eyam which in 1665 cut itself off from the rest of Derbyshire, so that no other village would catch the Plague.
