The research question of this essay is:
Which seat in a theatre make up the best sitting place to give the maximum field
of view for a person?
For the longest time, I have been performing in my school’s theatre and I have noticed
that the school usually reserves its best seats for VIPs in the center front row. This spiked
the interest in me to find out whether these seats are indeed the best seats in the house
or are there better ones in terms of field of view? Hence this essay will be a mathematical
investigation on which seat or sets of seats can give the maximum view angle for a
person.

I discovered the method in which I designed to calculate the viewing angle through one
of the applied calculus projects I read up on in a calculus textbook. However I modified
the method that was used, and considered that to find the maximum view angle for a
person I assumed that it should be both the vertical and horizontal viewing angles (
