Modelling the growth of vehicles in Jakarta: what is the minimum area of road needed in Jakarta in 2014 in order to prevent traffic gridlock during peak hours?
This research question was inspired by the daily phenomenon of traffic jam in Jakarta. This paper offers two scenarios: a scenario where government does not control the volume of traffic and a scenario where government implements odd-or-even-number regulation where only private vehicles with odd or even plate number are allowed to operate on certain days. For each scenario, same approach is used.
