To what extent do the recordings of Andres Segovia's performances and transcriptions of his guitar transcriptions retain the original flavour of its source (Asturias by Albeniz and Chaconne from Violin Partita No. 2 in D minor by Bach)?
Research was carried out by first comparing the theoretical transcriptions Segovia made to the pieces, and then comparing recordings of the pieces with recordings played on the original instruments by other artists. References were made along the way to various books and articles on the music.
