In summer Yorta Yorta children spent much of their time swimming in the river. Jumping off the river bank, swinging from ropes and playing on makeshift rafts were all games that the children enjoyed. It was a lot of fun, but whenever there were little kids involved, an elder was always around to keep a watchful eye.
