Many hours were spent playing in and around the river. The Yorta Yorta children used whatever material they could find to amuse themselves. Bits of tin were a real treasure as they were used to make boats. Pieces of tin were folded at each end to resemble a canoe and held together with wire. Any holes in the tin were plugged up with mud.
