The children learnt about their world through everyday activities like collecting firewood. The Yorta Yorta people were always having bonfires, especially in the winter months when it was cold. Everyone would gather around to keep warm. It was a good time to catch up with each other. The elders would sit and yarn until the early hours of the morning.
