doPoppy is old and shabby, but she is the well-loved doll of Wren, who takes her everywhere. So it is that when Wren is taken seriously ill, Poppy is accidentally abandoned in the doctors' waiting room. Her new life is full of adventures - she is nearly thrown away, she is stolen, and then finally rescued by her cat-friend, Two Toes, and accomplices, before being taken to the hospital where her young owner lies pining for the small doll she thinks she has lost for ever.
